Most dental offices are now open until pm on weekdays and every sat or every other sat until 1pm dengal even as late as hygienistx on a sat.

I work wed pm, tues pm, and sats pm. I do not want those hours. But those were the only hygiene positions open that I could. I had no choice in the hours. Also dentaal dentists do NOT offer hygienists any benefits. You buy your own uniforms. They dont even offer health insurance! I found this out when I started applying to hygiene positions.

Since decades ago most hygienists deental married with children dentists treat everyone like they are married with kids. Meaning hygienists who are married get nruses health insurance from their husband’s job and since they have kids they koney want to work more than 25 hours a week.

So it is RARE to find a full time hygiene job and rare to find one that offers any benefits. Oh and did I mention that there are NO paid vacations or sick days? If you are a hygienists you can’t take 1 day off from work.

If you do you risk losing your job to another hygienist who would gladly take your job OR if you monej take the day off you dont get paid. Again I did not know all of this until I became a hygienist last year. Nursing would have been better. Choose nursing. When you work for a hospital or nursing home you will get good pay PLUS health insurance.
